Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who recently met world light-welterweight boxing champion Amir Khan on a flight, says it is a "terrific sport" and its ring is "much like life".

"Did I ever tell you that I boxed in school too? I think I did. In Boys' High School in Allahabad and then in Sherwood College, Nainital. Terrific sport. The ladies do not much care for it. Too brutal for them they say, but such a lesson in life, that four cornered ring," Bachchan posted on his blog.

Abhishek Bachchan, the handsome hunk of bollywood and husband of gorgeous Aishwarya Rai who became the new ambassador of WWF’s Earth Hour for year 2010, has urged all his colleagues in the film industry not to shoot for films between 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm on March 27 to save electricity.

The dashing scion of first family of bollywood also said that he would establish an example by his own conduct and will not shoot during that period.

The IPL 2011 will see two more teams, and the giant Videocon group is running to get hold of the franchise rights of the Pune team. It is said that they have joined hands with Jr. Bachchan, and he might be their partner.

According to the sources, P Vision Ltd, a company owned by Videocon Group chief Venugopal Dhoot, has roped in Abhishek Bachchan along with two Pune based firms, and they will be bidding for the new IPL team. Though Mr. Dhoot refrained from making any comments whatsoever.

Recently Aishwarya Rai and Akshay Kumar had to fly to Manali to shoot romantic song in director Vipul Amrutlal Shah’s film Action Replayy.

But unexpectedly it snowed a lot in Manali in February. And due to certain risks Shah cancelled the shoot. Shah’s patience is really being tested for this movie as first, Ash’s extended the shoot for Mani Ratnam’s film, Raavan and now the weather is spoiling everything.

The song that had to be shot is based on a 1970s melody by Pritam. Vipul now requires some other date from both the stars for shooting the song that is rather difficult to set. So Vipul may have to cancel the song from the film.

Bollywood superstar visits temples very often, but of late, he is more drawn towards Sikhism, the faith of his mother Teji Bachchan, who was a Sikh family. He has a deep desire to visit the Golden Temple along with his children Abhishek Bachchan and Shweta.

Two lockets of Guru Nanak ji, Sacche Padsha, are constant on my neck - one a gift from Guddi Behenji my cousin, daughter of my Mother’s elder sister Gobind Masi ji and the other I found as a gift to me that was lying on my desk unnoticed. Now they both adorn my neck,” he continued on his blog.

Surprisingly, he doesn’t forget to seek blessings from the Sikh gurus. “Raj Kanwar, one of Abhishek’s early directors, had presented me with a photograph of all the Guruji’s and they now are with me at my place of worship. I seek blessings from them each morning - ‘Sat Naam Wahe Guru’, I recite, as I touch their images and a strange sense of fulfillment and strength consumes me,” he wrote.

Amitabh Bachchan did not collect his Filmfare award on stage nor did he go along with his family to attend the function.

The reason though is quite obvious that the Bachchans were very upset with a newspaper belonging to the same group for writing an article against his daughter in law Aishwarya Rai.

When asked as to why he did not attend the event, he replied, “I felt that the modesty of a lady in my house has been outraged and the topic that was brought up was very insensitive.

How can we go sing, dance and celebrate and collect awards at a function organized by the same media group when they are abusing a lady of my house.. I have asked for an apology, but they haven’t,” said Big B.
 

Shraddha Kapoor tells that she bagged her debut role in Teen Patti on her own merit and not because she happens to be the daughter of Shakti Kapoor or the niece of Padmini Kolhapure.

What is your role in Teen Patti? I play the role of Aparna Khanna who is a studious girl and is also a guitarist in her college’s music band. Aparna is a very intriguing person.

The film is all about Aparna’s journey and how during the journey Aparna starts discovering things about her which surprise her. Do you think Teen Patti is the right launching pad for a newcomer like you?

Teen Patti, let me reiterate is not a quintessential Indian cinema about boy meets girl. Nor is it about gambling. Gambling forms just the backdrop of the film Teen Patti. It is something which Indian cinema has not seen before.

I thought that the script was very gripping and my role was well etched. I really felt that the film was good enough to be my launching pad To what extent could you relate to the character of Aparna in the film?
