Abhishek Bachchan, the handsome hunk of bollywood and husband of gorgeous Aishwarya Rai who became the new ambassador of WWF’s Earth Hour for year 2010, has urged all his colleagues in the film industry not to shoot for films between 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm on March 27 to save electricity.

The dashing scion of first family of bollywood also said that he would establish an example by his own conduct and will not shoot during that period.

Not only this, AB Baby went a step further and promised that his father Amitabh Bachchan and wife Aishwarya Rai, too, would participate in the campaign and switch off the lights during that period on March 27.

Abhishek expects his fans all over the country to not only canvass for this noble cause but also practice themselves on the appointed day. In fact, the concept of Earth hour, which had originated in Sydney, Australia, in year 2007, has been steadily gaining momentum and attracting more and more people from all walks of life. Last year, Delhi was able to save around 700 MW of electricity on this day.

Abhishek Bachchan stressed the need for saving electricity by lessening its use, which in turn will help reduce the danger to our earth from Global warming. This year fifteen cities of the country are scheduled to take part in this campaign in a big way and that include the financial capital city of Mumbai, political capital Delhi and garden city of Bangalore.

In any case, Abhishek Bachchan has always been in the forefront of campaign that involved social causes and this brand ambassadorship of WWF only strengthens his image further.  He has always been the one actor who wants to contribute his might towards the betterment of society and word at large..
