In an email interview with TOI, Bachchan was asked if he thought his passion for blogging could ebb with time.

"These are early days. I want to be able to have sufficient material everyday to remit. Shortly our website shall be operative and four other prominent members of the family will be a part of it. Naturally there will be the obvious dilution in interest. I shall wait and see.

We have asserted in the past that Bachchan will eventually run out of steam, if he is not afflicted with cervical radiculopathy, or a prolapsed disc, before that.

We are wondering who the fourth 'prominent member of the family' is, assuming that the 'father of the family' was not counting himself in a second time. The trouble is, it is not beyond Mr Bachchan to be referring to Samajwadi party leader Amar Singh!!

THE BACHCHAN show is going through grave problems. They are now getting desperate. First Lara Dutta walked out stating knee problems.

Insiders say that she was not keen on this show because she knows she will be sidelined at every stage as the two Bachchan men have their favourite Aishwarya Bachchan as the main attraction. Plus being the bahu and the wife she will sure get first place everywhere. Bachchan senior cannot see beyond her and husband adores her. So her wish will be their command and everyone else will get over shadowed.

Aishwarya is known to make her point and get her way. So any other actress will have to play second fiddle to her. Knowing this Lara got smart and pulled out. She was well enough to fly to the US to do her art of living course! Then Akshay Kumar pulled out of the show. He is a big draw in the international market, so this was a great set back to the Bachchans. Considering they had no other big names on their show they decided to make Akshay an offer he could not refuse. They got him back on the show, but with a condition that he would only be with them in certain cities in Europe close to his shooting locations.

But while this was going on the Bachchans got nervous and asked Saif to sign on. They also approached Shahid. The two are thinking about it and will let them know.

As one of Indian cinema's most formidable actresses reaches a milestone in her life there will be no celebrations on the occasion.

How unlike her husband Amitabh Bachchan's 60th birthday when there was a huge bash with the who's who of Mumbai attending.

Jaya,alas, believes in no celebration. Her 60th birthday on 9 April will be very quiet affair restricted to her immediate family.

Says a source close to the Bachchans, "Firstly she wouldn't have celebrated even if things were normal. But this time with the family mourning her mother-in-law's death there's no question of any celebration. When you tell her turning 60 is an event she shrugs and says it's just another day."

Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan and their bahu Aishwarya Rai have in fact, left for Miami where Abhishek Bachchan is shooting for Karan Johar's Dostana.

It's Abhishek-Aishwarya's wedding anniversary on 20 April. While Aishwarya is expected to stay back until the anniversary The Big B and his wife will return after Jaya's birthday. Says the Big B, "We're just going to be with Abhishek for a few days. It's Jaya's 60th birthday on the 9th. There will be no celebrations because of the death."

Although this is going to be Aishwarya Rai's first Holi after her wedding, the Bachchan family is not planning to celebrate the festival this year.

"My mother-in-law (Teji Bachchan) passed away this year so we are not going to celebrate Holi. In fact, we will try to avoid attending any such parties too," Jaya Bachchan told reporters.

She was in the capital with husband Amitabh Bachchan for the launch of Anil Dharkar's book "Icons: Men & Women Who Shaped Today's India" Wednesday. When asked about her icon, Jaya said: "My grandson is my icon".

Despite being generally perceived as not being media friendly, Jaya was very polite and forthcoming at the event.

Asked if she would give credit to her husband for her happiness, Jaya said: "Of course. In fact I will give credit to my entire family - my kids, my son-in-law (Nikhil Nanda), daughter-in-law and my grandchildren (Agastya and Navya Naveli) for my happiness."

She added that real happiness comes from "positive thinking and one should be always positive in life".

The Big B features as one of the 20 icons in Dharker's book, and when the journalists asked her about her husband's iconic status, Jaya smiled and said: "Ghar ki murgi daal barabar (familiarity breeds contempt)."

Mumbai, March 04: Looks like the Mumbai elite class still can’t get over the ‘no-invitation’ trauma of the Ash-Abhi wedding. Keeping up with the trend started by the Bachchan clan of not inviting close acquaintances to the auspicious weddings, Vilasrao Deshmukh, Chief Minister of Maharashtra omitted Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan from the list of invites to his son Amit’s wedding to Aditi Pratap.

Deshmukh, who was not invited in the most talked about wedding of the decade, i.e Ash-Abhi marriage saga, apparently showed some affection for the Bachchan juniors by sending across a card to Abhi & Ash for his elder son’s wedding.

Looking at things, the invitation to Ash and Abhi seems to be coming more from Deshmukh’s younger son, Ritesh, who is also an actor. Though the famous Bollywood couple did not attend the wedding, Ash was spotted at the reception accompanied by her secretary, Hari Singh.

The sequence reminds us of the famous saying – What you sow is what you reap.

 Reportedly Akshay Kumar has opted out of the world's big show world tour that is schedule in 2008. Akshay was part of Bachchan's group called Unforgettable. The reason for his opting out is not just date problems but also that he doesn't get along with Amitabh Bachchan ater the   Bhool Bhulaiyaa   controversy. There are two groups in the world tour. While one is called Unforgettable, the other is Temptation. Unforgettable will feature Big B, Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Lara Dutta, Riteish Deshmukh and Bipasha Basu. The Tempataion group will have stars like King Khan Shah Rukh, Preity Zinta, Rani Mukherjee and Priyanka Chopra.It is believed that both the tours will have separate schedules, and Temptation will set out before Unforgettable. A source informs that Akshay always had date problems as he is one of the busiest actors from the industry. In spite of that he was looking forward to the world tour's grand show. While reports initially stated that Akshay was asking for an exorbitant fee, reports now claim that he has 'date problems'.But it's more than that we say. It can be recalled that Amitabh was supposed to play the role played by Akshay Kumar in Bhool Bhulaiyaa . This annoyed Amitabh. Akshay and Bachchan were involved in a feud as to who would acquire the rights of the South film that was recently remade into Hindi (Bhool Bhulaiya). Akshay, Bachchan feels unfairly acquired the rights and decided not to work with him henceforth. Bachchan refused many films which starred Akshay in the lead, including Rohan Sippy's Nikhil Advani-directed Made In China . But the war doesn't end here.  Another issue could be 'ego-hassle'. Unforgettable is dominated by the Bachchans and after Ash-Abhishek's marriage this is going to be their first show together, and quite the USP of it all. This may just leave Akshay feeling shortchanged. However, hunk Khiladi is considering having his own show next year, and this one, too, will travel the world!

On Saturday night Aishwarya's parents came together with the Bachchan family, minus Jaya, for a very special screening of Saawariya at Yashraj Films. Jaya was unable to attend as she was unwell.Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, his leading lady Sonam Kapoor were present for the occasion. But the film's leading man Ranbir Kapoor would have missed the chance to watch the film with the Bachchans because he was at work. As luck would have it he was shooting in the same vicinity for Yashraj Films's next.Ranbir rushed to the screeing just before it began.Mr Bachchan who earlier during the evening attended the Indian Television Academy awards arrived on the dot, as usual.While Abhishek and Aishawarya sat in one corner the film's nervous director Sanjay Bhansali could be seen huddled nervously with the Big B who couldn't take his eyes off the screen. Mr Bachchan the next morning sent chocolates and a beautifully-worded letter to both Ranbir and Sonam."It's the most beautiful gift I've received in my life," gushes Sonam"It's hard to believe the praise that Bachchan Saab has lavished on me.I don't deserve it," Ranbir gets emotional.

Apparently Jaya Bachchan and Rani Mukherji on the sets of Pradeep Sarkar's film, Laaga Chunri Mein Daag have been exchanging cold vibes when they were shooting in Varanasi for the film. Rani tried her best to be friendly with Jaya, but Jaya would return the friendly overtures with a cold smile making evident that something was wrong between Jaya and Rani, although they pretended that everything was normal. Jaya would deliver her lines and sit in her corner of the sets, avoiding Rani and her family. Jaya is fond of Rani as an actress, but there really is no proof that she likes her as a person, although Rani has never misbehaved with Jaya or any of the senior actors on the sets.Jaya was also very upset when media had started speculating about Abhishek dating Rani making it one of the reasons why Bachchans kept Rani and her family out of the wedding.
