Abhishek Bachchan Movies: 'Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey' Reviews: Deepika Padukone and Abhishek Bachchan starrer film ‘Kelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey’ is a piece of cinema that is refreshingly different from the comic capers and sleazy scoops we are being offered these days.

Directed by Ashutosh Gowariker (who has a taste for period pieces and patriotism) this film once again brings forth his craft and knowledge to spin a fine tale of nationalism in an era when such films are becoming rarer day by day. Though, the film was less severely promoted and the hype was pretty low, it has got very good response from the critics.
Taran Adarsh, for example, commends the film maker for his successful rendition of such deep-layered poignancy and patriotism. However, the film lacks the typical masala (that is a must now-a-days in luring the movie buffs) and has to heavily rely on some good word of mouth publicity to make some sound effect on the cash box.
Other critics, too, have hailed the film and applauded Gowariker for his sublime handling of historic characters, his eye for detail and his knack at lending the film that engrossing touché. Abhishek Bachchan as Surya Sen and Deepika Padukone as Kalpana Dutta, too, have been impressive. Overall, despite a few shortcomings, the film has appealed to those who love a piece of history.
