Samajwadi Party on Friday hit back at Shatrughan Sinha for his alleged attack on Amitabh Bachchan for appearing in a controversial ad campaign of the SP, telling the BJP leader bluntly that only "jobless actors like him may need money". SP General Secretary Amar Singh, a known friend of mega star, told reporters that Bachchan had not taken a penny for the advertisements which were circulated after being approved by the Election Commission. Singh's counter attack on Sinha came a day after the former Union Minister launched a broadside against Bachchan on the issue alleging that the megastar had featured in the commercial only because of his "love for money".
Noting that Sinha should have respect for his "fraternity" before making such "frivolous" remarks, Singh said that if the BJP leader had any problems about the facts given in the ad campaign, then the proper forum for him to approach was the Election Commission. Sinha had wondered about the claims in the campaign that there were fewer crimes in UP. He felt how Bachchan could make such a claim even after the Nithari serial killings.
